Alice - you can repeat affirmations along the lines of 'Loneliness is not everything', 'I have a fantastic and successful life filled with joy', even if you don't mean it, keep repeating phrases like these and eventually your brain / though processing will change and so you don't feel lonely / or as lonely and you wont feel you need a partner to fulfil the loneliness.
It's only loneliness because you THINK it is, by doing as advised in the article you defuse the neurological power of the word and eventually believe in it yourself.
