Americanronald makes a good point. "NO!" sends out an alarm cry, and we must use it especially if our child is in danger. Neurologically, it should cause the child to freeze, and that can save their life if they are about to run out into a busy street.
When children learn how to use "no" they also feel great power, especially since they see that it can catch their parents off-guard!
