As an individual who is guilty of aimlessly scrolling through Facebook, I completely agree with this article. Numerous hours have been wasted looking through the pictures and updates of my “friends” — glancing into their online lives. I have caught myself making comparisons between my life and the lives of my friends, not always positive ones. Unfortunately, what we see online is not a perfect representation of what we are comparing ourselves to. We see our own hardships and defeats, but we do not generally see those of others on Facebook. In my opinion, the best solution to the joy-sucking stigma of Facebook is permanent deletion.
