I've been to five different therapists, and NONE of them did CBT--just talk therapy, which can often be BAD for people with depression if it only leads to rumination! I found out about CBT on my own and found a great video on youtube that explains various tools of CBT. I need to get better at doing it on a regular basis, but the few times I've sat down with the video and journaled about my thoughts and how to change them, I've felt much better.
It's kind of crazy how few therapists do something active in therapy like CBT or giving patients homework...
