I agree. I always knew there was something "off" about me, but I never understood it was a lack of love until I had a daughter I loved with all of my heart. That is what I was missing. Being loved and wanted as a child. Being protected and cared for. I was none of these. I was an unwanted pregnancy after my mother had "the perfect family", I was unplanned and was referred to as a "mistake", even to strangers. My parents are no better grandparents than they were parents. They are missing out. This is their issue. No one else's.
