Sharing personal information brings people closer together. But how do you know when you’ve gone too far—or when someone else has ulterior motives?

A vulnerable narcissist might be what my mother was, along with other personality disorders. Her rages were terrifying, this happened when there was even slight bid for independence from me. She would "sniff" out any kind of slight or criticism which would then send her over the top. I was estranged from her for many years so I'm not sure if she mellowed out, or even if that's possible. By the time I saw her before she died, she was still irrational, but not as angry. I think she was too old to care.
