Some men marry for the status, to gain a "helpmate"(which is an unpaid servant that also provides sex), so they won't be alone, or for somebody else to pay the bills. Not all men but some.

When a partner is feeling unappreciated, unloved, abused or isolated at some point they may consider divorce. This shouldn't be a surprise.
