Frankly I'm just pleased anytime psychotherapists are acknowledging valid systemic stressors. It's true that many small things we might do will be insignificant. Democracy in general and its manifestation in the US in particular is purposefully slow. Or at least it's supposed to be. There are pros and cons to that. We can help in our communities but we rightfully feel somewhat dejected because of the struggle to change things systemically. But maybe we can't always tell what actions will end up being very significant. It appears that all of the time many of us have spent educating ourselves, contacting representatives, going to protests or even just talking about issues has pushed the conversation leftward. Awareness is huge in democracy.
