The problem I see with classifying something as a Psychiatric Disorder is that it then becomes a drug market. I've never taken drugs to alleviate my SCD (not even alcohol) and I don't ever intend to start. Educating myself about ASD has been the most effective way to learn how to communicate more effectively, and authors like John Elder Robinson are doing more for me than any pill pusher ever could.
