I find this getting crazier all the time, we have acronyms for everything, and "one size fits all" mental disease. I am a sensitive man, aged 65, who tried online dating for the first time. Dated a few women, so far, results are less than satisfying. I am dealing with emotions like rejection for the first time since high school. I find myself getting depressed about it. I ask myself, "why am I giving other people who barely know me so much power?" Now you tell me that if I am overly sensitive to rejection, I'm going to drop dead of a heart attack? THANKS A LOT, Doc. You really know how to make a guy feel good! SELF ESTEEM is always the 800 pound gorilla in the room, and my mother used to criticize me frequently as a kid, calling me "stupid," etc. So I suffer from low self esteem, and I get depressed when this online dating thing doesn't pan out. So? I'm going to drop dead now? Now you guys come up with this ISP crap. Should I worry about that now? It's enough to make a guy depressed! Wait a sec, you are a therapist, right? You're supposed to make guys like me feel better! OH VEY!
