I agree with Stanton.

I also think AA absolutely DOES tell people not to drink. If you go to an AA meeting, people who have never met you before, and who nothing about you, will tell you all kinds of things about your "disease" and how you can't control your drinking (just because you've come to the meeting, and said you are concerned about your drinking.)

I find it interesting that, whenever people talk about alternatives to AA such as harm reduction or
Moderation Management, addiction professionals such as Anne say, "Those programs don't work." But CLEARLY the 12-step programs don't work for many, many people.

I am very very saddened by Amy's death. Her music really moved me.
