Jessica Buckland Psy.D.

Jessica Buckland received her Bachelor's in Psychology from Penn State in 2000 and her Psy. D. from Indiana University of Pennsylvania in 2012. Her dissertation was titled “Violation of Expectation: Enemy to Musical Memory?” Jessica completed her internship at Counseling and Psychological Services at Penn State University. She currently works independently in private practice with adults, primarily from a cognitive-behavioral orientation though influenced by existential and humanistic perspectives. She is also a practicing purple belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu—which she considers her spiritual practice--and she manages a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Academy. She also holds elected municipal office on the local township Board of Supervisors, a role replete with interpersonal dynamics and challenges that enrich and complement those of a clinical psychologist.
